Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic stated that tonight’s session of the UN Security Council on Kosovo-Metohija will be very important since it will be the last session on this issue before the debate at the International Court of Justice, scheduled for December 1 in The Hague.

Jeremic told the FoNet news agency that during his stay in New York he will meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and representatives from a number of countries to talk about not recognising the province’s unilaterally declared independence.
During the UN General Assembly there was strong pressure on many countries to recognise Kosovo but none of them succumbed to it. I believe we were successful at the General Assembly, perhaps even more than anyone had anticipated, Jeremic said, adding that intensive engagement on this issue must continue.
