Investment of Dongfeng in Priboj car factory possible

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic talked today with a delegation from the Chinese company Dongfeng about possibilities for investment in the Priboj car factory FAP.

Dinkic explained that FAP is a company with a long tradition and is interested in a strategic partnership. There will be great possibilities for the export of trucks made in Serbia.
One of the largest truck producers in China and the whole of Asia, Dongfeng was founded in 1969. It employs in excess of 120,000 workers and its total production is 1.2 million vehicles.
One part of the company, which produces medium and heavy trucks and commercial vehicles in general, has a joint investment contract with Renault-Nissan.
Many other forms of cooperation with the world's biggest names from the automotive industry were also discussed.
The visit of the Dongfeng delegation was agreed during the recent visit of Serbian President Boris Tadic and Dinkic to Beijing and Shanghai.
The Dongfeng delegation will also visit the FAP factory in Priboj and the foundry in Prijepolje.
