Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohiija Goran Bogdanovic met today with the EU High Representative’s personal representative in Belgrade Peter Sorensen.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry, Bogdanovic asked Sorensen for full information regarding the arrest of five Serbs from the municipality of Novo Brdo on suspicion that they are guilty of war crimes.
Sorensen will convey this demand to EULEX and will present the required information to Minister Bogdanovic as soon as he receives it.
The Ministry reiterates that it is committed to the stance that any person found guilty of war crimes should be brought to justice but insists that the case be clarified in order to remove any doubt that secret war crimes charges have been made in an attempt to prevent the return of refugees to Kosovo.
Removing these doubts will help restore the confidence of Kosovo Serbs in the international presence in the southern province, concludes the statement.
