State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric today said that as of October or November citizens will be able to buy and sell NIS shares.
In an interview with B92, Ciric voiced his belief that after
yesterday's government decision the Privatisation Agency and the Securities Commission will solve all the technical problems concerning the opening of bank accounts by September 20.
Citizens will then be able to receive all the necessary information, he explained, adding that as soon as the NIS Management Board adopts some decisions the general public will be able to use their shares.
The State Secretary announced that the nominal price of NIS shares will be more than RSD 500 and advised citizens not to sell them immediately, as the price will probably rise.
He recalled that 4.8 million citizens will receive not only NIS shares but also shares in other public companies, such as Nikola Tesla Airport, Telekom Srbije, Elektroprivreda Srbije, Jat Airways and Galenika
