Anniversary of death of two boys in Gorazdevac

The Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija stated that a prayer service was held at the Church of the Holy Virgin in Gorazdevac to mark the sixth anniversary of the murder of two Serbian boys from this village in Metohija.
State Secretary for Kosovo-Metohija Oliver Ivanovic stressed following the service that there are no doubts that the murders were ethnically motivated, adding that the killing of children is unacceptable.
It has been six years since the crime and we still do not have any information that the investigation is going anywhere. It is amazing that the crime took place in broad daylight, on the banks of the Bistrica River, and that no one saw the perpetrator, Ivanovic said.
He recalled that ever since EULEX came to the province, the Serbian government has insisted that all crimes against Serbs must be solved, including the Gorazdevac murders.
Ivanovic noted that distrust and fear amongst the Serbian and other non-ethnic Albanian population of Kosovo-Metohija keeps increasing after each crime, adding that the international community must exert pressure on representatives of local authorities in Kosovo and demand their cooperation.
Solving these crimes is a serious test for EULEX as well, because we could then see whether the mission is being successful or not, Ivanovic concluded.
On August 13, 2003, several children swimming in the Bistrica River were shot at from a machinegun, which resulted in the death of two boys, Pantelija Dakic (13) and Ivan Jovovic (19), while Djordje Ugrenovic (20), Bogdan Bukumiric (14), Marko Bogicevic (12) and Dragana Srbljak (13) were wounded, recalls the statement, adding that the perpetrators have still not been identified.
