Remains of three Serbs handed over

President of the Serbian government’s Committee for Missing Persons Veljko Odalovic stated that the remains of three Serbs, kidnapped by the Kosovo Liberation Army in Kosovo in 1999, were handed over today at the Merdare crossing on the administrative line with Kosovo.
In a statement to Tanjug news agency, Odalovic said that the kidnapped Serbs were Zlata Jovanovic from Pristina and Milivoje and Vilka Krstic, a married couple from Decani.
He said that the remains of Zlata Jovanovic were found in a Serbian Orthodox cemetery in Pristina while the bodies of the Krstic couple, displaying wounds inflicted by weapons, were found in the village of Donji Ratis.
Odalovic said that the Krstic couple will be buried in Kragujevac and Jovanovic in Belgrade, adding that up until now the Committee has received the remains of 302 Serbs and other non-Albanians, while another 537 are still officially missing. According to the Red Cross consolidated list of missing persons, 1901 people are missing. The Serbian Committee is currently investigating 537 of these cases while the rest are being investigated by the Committee in Pristina, said Odalovic.
