Following a meeting with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus, Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Laila Freivalds said that Sweden supports Serbia's economic reforms, adding that Swedish companies are interested in boosting their presence in the Serbian market.

Noting that Serbia's economy is poised to grow eight percent this year, Labus said that the government is determined to speed up privatisation efforts and develop the country's business environment.
Freivalds also welcomed the European Commission's decision to resume the drawing up of a feasibility study for signing a stabilisation and association agreement between Serbia-Montenegro and the European Union.
Labus said that he expects the study to be completed in the first quarter of 2005 and the agreement signed by the end of next year.
The Swedish Minister also called on all democratic forces to join efforts to overcome numerous problems that the government is faced with, adding that Sweden will support the government's resolve to resume economic reforms and bring its economic system up to EU standards.
