The Serbian parliament adopted a Resolution on European Union association at a session today, describing integration into the EU and membership in the Partnership for Peace (PfP) program as part of Serbia's strategic and national goals.
The Resolution obliges the Serbian government to prepare Serbia's national strategy for Serbia-Montenegro's association with the EU and take measures to harmonise Serbia's legislation with EU standards.
The document also calls on the government to submit quarterly reports to the parliament to update lawmakers on its progress in implementing programmes and activities required for the state union's integration into the EU.
The Resolution was backed by 129 deputies in the parliament.
