As part of the project “Support to Serbian Public Health Development,” the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) gave 25 vehicles to be used in the transportation of medical supplies to representatives of institutes and health centres in 23 towns in Serbia.
The total value of the vehicles amounts to €150,000. The EAR presented the vehicles to the Serbian health institutions in a move to improve the public health programme in Serbia.
Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic said that apart from medical supplies and medicines, the assistance with regards to medical-use vehicles is important to satisfy high standards in the health sector.
EAR spokesperson John White said that this is part of the European Union-financed project, that has assisted Serbia’s heath sector with €78 million since December 2000.
