Following the signing Cvetkovic said that the agreement confirms that we must fight the crisis by expanding markets and not by imposing barriers.
The agreement is of considerable importance for trade, the Prime Minister said, adding that politically Serbia remains true to its stance that it recognises Bosnia-Herzegovina, but as for its interior state of affairs it will accept any agreement reached by the three constituting sides.
Republika Srpska Prime Minister Milorad Dodik voiced his hope that the agreement will be expanded to include other economic spheres and improve the capacity of both countries’ economies.
Dodik stressed that the agreement has raised great interest from citizens in Republika Srpska, adding that the remaining part of Bosnia-Herzegovina is also welcome to cooperate.
He stressed that the Serbian government offered the Bosnia-Herzegovina government the same terms for cooperation as it did to Republika Srpska.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic and Republika Srpska Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation Jasna Brkic signed the agreement on economic cooperation.
The deal will strengthen economic and trade cooperation and will promote the Kragujevac made Fiat Punto car in Republika Srpska, as well as subsidised tractors.
Apart from the signatories, the signing was also attended by Fiat Group Vice President Alfredo Altavilla.
