The Serbian Ministry of Economy and Regional Development stated that the committee in charge of carrying out the procedure for choosing a strategic partner for the mining and metallurgical complex RTB Bor has announced that the document submitted by the company A-Tec Industries is not a binding offer, rather a letter of intent.
According to the statement issued by the Ministry, at its session today the committee unanimously concluded that the document submitted by A-Tec Industries does not meet the criteria set forth in the public invitation to tender and therefore cannot be taken into further consideration.
The Serbian government supports RTB Bor considering the company’s national importance and a new tender will not be announced until the market improves.
The committee’s session was also attended by representatives from all RTB Bor trade unions.
The Serbian government presented a long term development strategy for RTB Bor to the company’s executives and trade union representatives. The strategy was adopted unanimously.
According to the strategy production efficiency will be increased through modernization, investment in environmental protection and debt settlement.
