Markovic said that the election date will depend on the pace of the preparation of the Constitution of Serbia, which will begin on March 17.
Markovic voiced hope that Serbia will get both the constitution and the president by Vidovdan - St Vitus' Day - which is observed on June 28, and is a key date in Serbian history.
Markovic scheduled the second session of the parliament's first regular sitting for March 16, when deputies will examine the bills on amendments to the law on the organisation of courts, the law on judges and the law on the organisation and jurisdiction of state bodies in the fight against organised crime.
