Dinkic, who is participating at the spring session of the IMF and the World Bank, together with Deputy Prime Minister for EU Integration Bozidar Djelic and Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Radovan Jelasic, stated that World Bank Infrastructure Directors have confirmed that the loan will be provided to Serbia in June.
Deputy Prime Minister for EU Integration Bozidar Djelic said that the Serbian delegation and representatives from the IMF and the World Bank discussed Serbian economic policy, reiterating that the arrangement with IMF, worth €3 billion, will help provide macroeconomic stability.
The agreement with the IMF will be on the government’s agenda next week and will be adopted by the IMF Management Board on May 11, specified Djelic.
The Minister recalled that the IMF has agreed to earmark €3 billion to Serbian foreign currency reserves for this and the next year.
The Serbian delegation’s task is to secure additional funds from other international institutions in order to speed up the implementation of already approved projects, noted Djelic.
As for the world economy, Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Radovan Jelasic estimated that it will improve slightly by the end of this year.
