Forming Kosovo security forces would negatively affect regional stability

The Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija stated that Minister Goran Bogdanovic met today with Commander of NATO Southern Flank Admiral Mark Fitzgerald.
Bogdanovic presented Serbia’s principled positions and stressed that forming Kosovo security forces would negatively affect stability in Kosovo-Metohija, Serbia and the region.
Serbia still sees KFOR as the only legitimate military stakeholder in Kosovo, which is why we expect KFOR to provide security for Serbs and other non-Albanians, he stressed.
Despite their opposite opinions, the two officials expressed a readiness to work on security for Serbs and other non-Albanians.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Zoran Vujic and General Milorad Peric from the Defence Ministry.
