Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic stated tonight, following the UN Security Council session, that it is of crucial importance that Serbian representatives have established a dialogue with the EULEX mission since it is their joint goal to preserve peace in Kosovo-Metohija.
Speaking to the press at the UN headquarters in New York, Jeremic said that the UN, EULEX and Serbia should work together to reduce tension in the southern Serbian province.
This is a new time, nothing has changed about the province’s status, but we want to help the EU and UN and stabilise the state in Kosovo-Metohija, said Jeremic.
He said that after April 17 and once the International Court of Justice states its opinion on the legality of Kosovo’s self-proclaimed independence, the status issue will be transferred from the political to the legal arena.
Jeremic noted that Serbia will continue cooperation with the Hague tribunal, adding that it is fulfilling all its international obligations.
