Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic will speak at the government’s special session which will be held on March 24 on the occasion of the Remembrance Day for the victims of the NATO bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999.
The Remembrance Day will mark the tenth anniversary of the tragic events that took place in the period from March 24 to June 10 in 1999. The government session will be open to the media.
Commemorative gatherings will be held on March 24 at 12 noon throughout Serbia at places where the air strikes claimed lives.
Members of the Serbian government will lay wreaths at 12 noon at localities where the highest number of casualties occurred during the NATO bombing, as well as at memorials to civilian and military victims.
Sirens will be heard throughout Serbia on March 24 at 12 noon. The Serbian government calls on all citizens to observe a minute of silence in the memory of the victims of the NATO bombing when the sirens are heard.
Special commemorative ceremonies will be held in all elementary and secondary schools in Serbia.
