Government trying to provide stable electricity supply to Kosovo Serbs

Assistant Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Zvonimir Stevic today stated that the problem of electricity supply in Serb-inhabited areas in Kosovo and Metohija cannot be permanently solved but the government is doing all it can to provide a stable electricity supply in these areas.
In an interview with the Beta news agency, Stevic said that representatives from the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija, the Ministry of Mining and Energy and the Serbian electric power industry Elektroprivreda Srbije are negotiating on the possibility of starting talks with the international community in Kosovo in order to solve the problem.
Stevic invited the international community to provide electricity to all Serbian households in Kosovo.
He noted that the lack of electricity in Silovo will lead to a humanitarian catastrophe, adding that by signing an agreement with the Kosovo Energy Corporation, Serbs will actually be forced to endorse Kosovo institutions.
Silovo has not had electricity for eight days and Serbs in Priluzje and Grac in the municipality of Vucitrn, as well as in Babin Most and Plemetin in the municipality of Obilic, were left without electricity last week.
Stevic invited the international community to provide electricity to all Serbian households in Kosovo.
