The statement adds that the action plan presents the five basic pillars of the SME Development Strategy in detail, specifying that they refer to promotion of and support to entrepreneurship in setting up new companies, constant improvement of entrepreneurial education at all levels and financing SME business development.
The plan also implies better efficiency of the financial and tax system, better SME competitiveness in export markets, as well as improving the legal framework.
By realising these activities in the course of 2009 the priority needs of the SME sectors will be met, which will add to a more even-balanced regional development in Serbia.
President of the SME Council and State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development Dejan Jovanovic pointed out that the action plan includes all laws which will be forwarded to the parliament this year, as well as activities and projects of the ministries, agencies and other institutions and organisations.
Jovanovic explained that some activities will be financed by the relevant institutions and the others through donations.
While drafting the action plan for 2009, the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development held consultations with all institutions, which will take part in its implementation.
Cooperation with other institutions is an important precondition for the successful implementation of the action plan, which will be carried out by the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, the National Agency for SME Development and the SME Council.
Programmes of the National Agency for SME Development were also presented at the meeting, as well as the analysis of administrative obstacles that the SMEs encounter, concludes the statement.
