Serbia expects six-item plan to be implemented in its entirety

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic said he expects that after today’s meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon in New York, the implementation of the six-item plan would not be called into question any more.
In an interview with the BBC, during yesterday’s visit to London, Jeremic said that the UN Secretary General will convey Serbia’s stance that the plan should be implemented in its entirety.
Asked whether he is going to discuss the six-item plan with Ban Ki-Moon because UNMIK Chief Lamberto Zanier refused to meet him, Jeremic announced that he should meet with Zanier on February 19.
Jeremic said he was not certain whether he will meet with Zanier or not and therefore decided to meet with the UN Secretary General, who actually made the six-item plan, adding that some parts of the plan have already been implemented, but others have not, as they need further discussion.
According to Jeremic, EULEX will also have an important role concerning this issue.
He did not agree with the BBC’s remark that Serbia insists on separate customs, judiciary and police in Kosovo-Metohija.
The Foreign Minister pointed out that the meeting will discuss the ways Serbia should control the situation in its southern province, with the help of civil authorities.
As for his warning that Pristina authorities and Kosovo Albanians exert strong pressure on the UN mission, Jeremic said that UN representatives are in a very difficult position, adding that they should be free to work in line with the UN Security Council’s decisions. Serbia is ready to help them, but international civilian mission should do the same.
Minister Jeremic stressed that the international community must not yield to threats and pressure.
