Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic today said that the resolution on Kosovo adopted by the European Parliament, urging EU members who have not yet recognised Kosovo to do so, is entirely unacceptable and not in line with either international law or the Constitution.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija, Bogdanovic announced that Serbian officials will do all they can to protect Serbian sovereignty and territorial integrity through diplomatic and political means.
The Minister stressed that Serbia will not give up on its strategic priorities, which are EU accession and the fight for the preservation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, adding that the EU Council of Ministers’ stances and decisions actually define EU foreign policy.
The EU Council of Ministers comprises countries that have recognised the unilaterally declared Kosovo independence, as well as those who did not do so. The European Parliament is not in charge of EU foreign policy and therefore its decisions are not valid, concludes the statement.
