At the session of the Serbian parliament’s Committee for Kosovo-Metohija Bogdanovic said that only demilitarisation of the province can ensure safety and security for all Kosovo citizens, as well as peace in the entire region.
He recalled that from 2005 onwards Serbia has undertaken a series of activities and invested enormous efforts in its contacts with international officials with the aim of preventing the formation of such armed forces.
As for state organs’ activities concerning the formation of the Kosovo security forces, the Minister stressed that
President Boris Tadic has sent a protest letter to the UN Security Council and NATO, asking them to disband these forces.
According to him, the relevant ministers are in contact with international officials and are trying to draw their attention to the dangers that may arise due to the formation of the Kosovo security forces.
He recalled that the international community, primarily KFOR, UNMIK and EULEX, have done nothing to prevent the formation of these forces which, according to him, are in fact reformed units of the Kosovo protection corps.
Bogdanovic stressed that KFOR, being in charge of the security of all Kosovo citizens, has taken sides and together with NATO took part in the formation of a parallel army which can only bring harm to Serbs and other non-ethnic Albanians.
