Serbia accepted the EULEX deployment in Kosovo-Metohija but EULEX failed to prevent violent events that happened in the previous period, said Bogdanovic.
After meeting with municipal presidents from northern Kosovo, the Minister said that the fact that it is not known who is responsible for peace and security in Kosovska Mitrovica is entirely unacceptable.
He invited all citizens to refrain from violence and ignore provocation.
We all have to stay calm and convey the message that Serbia is ready to cooperate diplomatically to solve all problems, stressed Bogdanovic.
The Minister announced that Serbian and EULEX representatives will meet in January in order to help prevent further incidents in the province.
A meeting will discuss the implementation of the six-item plan and affirmation of Resolution 1244, which is of importance for the survival and return of Serbs in Kosovo, specified Bogdanovic.
He voiced his hope that a series of meetings will be held immediately after the holidays in order to overcome all obstacles concerning Serbia’s cooperation with UNMIK and EULEX.
Bogdanovic and his associates visited firemen and a journalist who were injured in Kosovska Mitrovica. Director of the Kosovska Mitrovica hospital Marko Jaksic today affirmed that their condition is now stable.
Bogdanovic condemned the attack on journalists and pointed out that the Ministry will provide funds for new cameras.
