The largest growth was recorded in the traffic, storage and communications sectors, as well as financial mediation, agriculture and trade, while other sectors recorded a smaller growth rate.
Industrial production went up 1.4% in 2008, to which the ore and stone mining sector contributed the most with a 4.7% growth.
According to estimates, agricultural production this year rose 9%, construction 4.9%, retail trade 6.5%, while wholesale trade grew by as much as 10.3%.
Hotel and catering sector recorded a growth of 1%.
Traffic, storage and communications sector showed a growth tendency of 15.6%, to which telecommunications contributed the most, with its 53.5% growth rate.
The number of employees in 2008 remained the same as in 2007. The number of employed men was somewhat reduced by 0.6%, while the number of working women went up 0.8%.
The unemployment rate in October stood at 14%.
Salaries without taxes and contributions continued to grow in 2008, nominally up 17.5% against 2007, 3.8% in real terms.
