Bogdanovic visits Association of Families of Kidnapped, Missing Kosovo Serbs

Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic, visiting the Association of the Families of Kidnapped, Murdered and Missing Persons from Kosovo, said that the government and the Ministry will make every effort to find out what has happened to them.

He stressed that the government is determined to shed light on all cases of injustice committed against Kosovo Serbs since 1998, when the kidnapping and murders began and to ensure that those responsible are punished for their crimes.
The Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija has set aside funds for assistance to the families of missing persons, which have been included in the 2009 budget, he said.
President of the Association of the Families of Kidnapped, Murdered and Missing Persons Simo Spasic stressed that the association and the families expect the government’s help.
He said that there must be justice for Serbian victims, just as there has been for Croatian, Bosniac and Albanian ones, reiterating that the number of people killed in the province must be finally determined.
The Association’s secretary general Natasa Scepanovic told the Minister that families of the missing demand that the government tries to find them, that it opens graves in the province and initiates court cases to determine the responsibility of both the international community and individuals.
Representatives from the Association thanked Bogdanovic for his visit, voicing their hope that their problems will be solved during his term in office.
