EULEX must implement six-item plan

Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic said that EULEX must implement the six-item plan that was agreed between Serbia and the UN.

In an interview with the Politika daily, Bogdanovic said that EULEX must respect Resolution 1244 and take a neutral stance.
Bogdanovic said he will meet with EULEX representatives in the upcoming period to discuss the six-item plan.
Serbia has endorsed EULEX under clear conditions and it is not acceptable if it avoids implementing the plan, which is in the interest not only of Serbs and other non-Albanians in the province but also of Kosovo Albanians, said Bogdanovic.
Bogdanovic expects EULEX to ensure the security of all Kosovo-Metohija citizens, prevent ethnically motivated violence and solve all the cases of murder and kidnapping of Serbs since 1999.
Serbia expects the mission to be status-neutral, not to implement the Ahtisaari plan, to honour Resolution 1244 and set up a dialogue with representatives of Serbs in the province, said Bogdanovic.
The Minister added he was not surprised by EULEX spokesman Victor Reuter’s statement, according to which the six-item plan is a political issue to be discussed between the authorities in Belgrade and Pristina and UNMIK Chief Lamberto Zannier.
Bogdanovic said that such a statement is probably the consequence of Albanian pressure, adding that Serbia will never accept other interpretations of the six-item plan.
As for cooperation with UNMIK and its Chief Lamberto Zannier, Bogdanovic pointed out that it depends on an agreement concerning the transfer of authority, which is due to be agreed soon between UNMIK and EULEX.
The Minister expects the agreement to be signed as soon as possible, in order to continue negotiations regarding the implementation of the six-item plan.
