EULEX deployment under Serbia’s terms, in line with Resolution 1244

Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic last night stated that the EULEX mission is being deployed to Kosovo-Metohija under terms which Serbia has clearly defined and the UN Security Council fully endorsed.
In a statement to Radio Television Serbia, Jeremic said that the EU guarantees that its mission will be status-neutral and in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
The EU has formally made a commitment at the Security Council that its activities in Kosovo-Metohija will be under the control of the UN, strictly status-neutral and respectful of Resolution 1244, the Minister stressed.
He noted that the Ahtisaari plan has been abandoned,and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s plan has been agreed upon, since it does not infringe upon Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
