Serbian diplomatic success in UN Security Council

State Secretary of the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija Oliver Ivanovic today stated that after Serbia’s resolution asking the International Court of Justice for an advisory opinion on the legality of Kosovo-Metohija’s unilaterally declared independence was adopted by the UN General Assembly, the adoption of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's report by the UN Security Council yesterday is a second success for Serbian diplomacy.
Ivanovic told FoNet agency that the UN Security Council decision will encourage the people of Kosovo-Metohija.
He said that the six items, referring to police, customs, judicial system, transport and infrastructure, administration and Serbian religious and cultural heritage, now need to be worked out.
It is of utmost importance that Serbia does not neglect its EU integration as this success can become material only if the EU accession process is speeded up.
Ivanovic said that it now turns out that the status of Kosovo is not resolved and that Serbia has a say in this process.
