UN Security Council endorses Ban Ki-moon’s report, agreement with Serbia

The UN Security Council last night in New York adopted the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's report on the reconfiguration of UNMIK and deployment of the EULEX mission in Kosovo-Metohija, in line with a six-item agreement with Serbia.

In a presidential statement, the Security Council approved recommendations contained in Ki-Moon’s latest Kosovo report, considering the different stances of Belgrade and Pristina and hailing their intention to cooperate with the international community.
The Security Council also hails cooperation of the UN and other international factors within UN Security Council Resolution 1244 as well as efforts of the EU to promote the European perspective for the whole Western Balkans thus giving a key contribution to regional stability and prosperity.
The decision has made possible the deployment of status-neutral EULEX in Kosovo-Metohija.
