Labus said that the trade cooperation between Serbia and Slovenia is on the constant rise, adding that Serbia’s trade deficit is too high. He called on Slovene authorities to balance the two countries’ exchange of goods.
He said that the government is now resolute to speed up privatisation and develop the overall economic system in Serbia, announcing that projected growth of gross domestic product (GDP) in 2004 is eight percent.
Labus said that Serbia is now a country with lower investment risk and that the country’s rating will improve more after the agreement with the London Club of Creditors is ratified.
He voiced hope that Slovenia will back Serbia in its efforts to complete the negotiations with the European Union (EU) on a stabilisation and association agreement.
The Slovene minister said that Slovenia is ready to share the experiences with Serbia-Montenegro in the process of EU accession.
