He explained that the EU will sign one association and stabilisation agreement with Serbia-Montenegro containing two protocols.
Labus said that the new approach will alleviate the tensions between Belgrade and Podgorica. He went on to say that there will be no major changes of what has already been done in harmonising economic relations between the two state union’s members. Labus also said that all joint institutions will keep on operating.
Serbia-Montenegro will have special protocols which must lead to convergence, until the date when the destiny of the state union becomes certain.
The Deputy Prime Minister said he discussed with the EU officials the terms for signing a textile agreement – either within the Action Plan or as part of the “two-track lane.”
Labus announced that a report on the “sugar affair” will be completed by October 15 and sent to EU Commissioner for External Relations Chris Patten.
