Head of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Zvonimir Stevic said at the occasion that it is necessary to educate staff so that local authorities begin to function better and to resolve problems in infrastructure, health, education, environmental protection and sport more effectively.
He said that the important issues are employment for young people, securing conditions to provide a normal life for Serbs and other non-Albanians in the province and making it possible for more than 220,000 internally displaced persons to return.
The aim of the seminar that has been organized for all presidents of Serbian municipalities in Kosovo is to improve the work of local bodies and lecturers will include professors from the Faculty of Political Science in Belgrade.
Subjects of discussion will include Serbia’s political and legal system, ethics in public service, management of local self-government institutions and cooperation with international organizations and institutions.
