According to the Foreign Ministry’s statement Jermic stressed that the Serbian government will endorse the reconfiguration of the international civilian presence in Kosovo only if it is in accordance with Resolution 1244 and the Serbian Constitution, as well as affirmed by the Security Council.
He stressed that the international presence in the Southern province must be status-neutral and in line with the UN.
The Foreign Ministers agreed that it is necessary to ensure peace and stability in the region as soon as possible and enable the speedier EU integration of the Western Balkans.
Jeremic also pointed out that it is of great importance that the Security Council’s session, at which UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon will present his report, is held in the near future.
