Serbian parliament’s committe for finance today accepted the draft law amending the budget law for 2008, which envisages an overall budget deficit increase of nearly RSD 5 billion.
Minister of Finance Diana Dragutinovic explained that the deficit increase arose mainly due to changes in governmental priorities, including pension increases, additional expenses for Corridor 10 and agricultural subsidies.
The budget deficit should be, according to the proposal, 1.7% of GDP, she said.
After the commitee session, parliament
resumed yesterdays budget revision discussion.
