Ivanovic talks with European parliament representatives

State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija Oliver Ivanovic spoke today with European Parliament representatives and conveyed the Serbian government’s stance that the presence of the EU mission EULEX and the International Civilian Office in Kosovo is illegal.
In a statement to the news agency Tanjug, Ivanovic said that the Serbian government’s stance is that these two missions in Kosovo are illegal because they arrived in the province without Security Council approval which is the only body authorised to execute changes to the existing mission UNMIK.
He explained to European Parliament representatives that UNMIK is the only mission with which Belgrade and Kosovo Serbs are cooperating, and which is needed by the entire international community including the EU.
Ivanovic said that at the meeting with European Parliament representatives, held in Kosovska Mitrovica, representatives of Denmark and Holland adopted a “firm” attitude towards this stance, but he emphasised that he will not accept any conditions regarding the issue of EULEX and the status of the province.
Serbia will make efforts to fulfill all its international obligations but cannot give up Kosovo, concluded Ivanovic.
