Serbia does not recognise Kosovo’s independence

Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic spoke today with special advisor to the EU High Representative for the Common Foreign Policy and Security Stefan Lehne.
Bogdanovic and Lehne discussed the current situation in Kosovo, EULEX mission and current activities in the UN.
Bogdanovic reiterated the Serbian government’s position that Serbia does not recognise Kosovo’s unilaterally declared independence and that it strongly opposes all decisions that are contrary to Resolution 1244 and decisions by the UN Security Council.
Serbia remains dedicated to its principled positions to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Lehne said that despite the fact he disagrees, he understands the Serbian position and expressed satisfaction over Serbia’s readiness for dialogue.
He also said that the majority of the EU members are positive about Serbia’s European perspective, according to a statement.
