Text books, school equipment for schools in Kosovo-Metohija

Assistant Minister for Kosovo-Metohija and president of the Coordinating Centre Zvonimir Stevic delivered 1,114 sets of text books and 1,450 sets of school equipment to primary school students in Kosovo-Metohija.

While delivering text books at the ''Kralj Milutin'' primary school in Gracanica, Stevic said that this is not a donation or humanitarian aid, but an obligation which the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija has towards Serbian and other non-ethnic Albanian children who live in the province in extremely difficult conditions.

He also notified representatives of the authorities present at the delivery that all schools in the province will get funds to cover their costs.

The Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija, together with the Ministry for the National Investment Plan, has decided to set up a secondary school centre in central Kosovo next year to meet the needs of secondary schools in the province, announced Stevic.

He added that the school administration for the Kosovo District, which was closed a few years ago, will be reopened and that on September 17 in Gracanica the office of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija will also be opened.

Text books and school equipment were distributed to children from poorer families and those who come from families of kidnapped and missing Serbs and other non-ethnic Albanians in the province.
