Addressing the press following the meeting with Spiric, which was also attended by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Mladjan Dinkic, Cvetkovic stressed that there is a need and scope for working on improving relations between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He said that implementation of the succession agreement between the two former Yugoslav republics was discussed, as well as the necessity of examining the decree which has now been suspended, and which regulates the sale of property of former Yugoslav republics in Serbia.
Serbia’s proposal was to examine bilateral agreements in a manner satisfactory to both sides before coming to the succession agreement, explained the Serbian Prime Minister and added that development of transport between the two countries was also discussed.
Cvetkovic said that he was pleased to accept an invitation to soon visit Bosnia and Herzegovina with an economic delegation.
Spiric said that relations between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina were stagnating during the past two years and voiced hope that they will improve in the future.
According to Spiric, the annual goods exchange between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina is worth €1 billion, and following Austria, Serbia is the second largest investor in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Spiric said that talks on improvement of economic cooperation between the two countries were conducted in a good neighbourly spirit and stressed that there is nothing which could jeopardise the development of relations between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Spiric participated today in a regional conference in Belgrade at which
Bosnia and Herzegovina officially joined the Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005-2015.
