Bogdanovic stressed that Serbia strongly opposes all decisions which are not in accordance with Resolution 1244 and decisions made by the UN Security Council.
He stressed that the Serbian government and the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija, which deals with matters related to the province, particularly opposes the agreement signed between UNMIK and the European Union Planning Team for Kosovo (EUPUT) on the sale of equipment and reserves in order to deploy the EULEX mission, and any other document that is not in accordance with international law and Security Council Resolution 1244.
Konuzin supported Belgrade’s stance and once again confirmed that Russia will continue to oppose all documents which justify Kosovo’s independence.
Bogdanovic and Konuzin agreed that a tough battle awaits Serbia at the upcoming UN General Assembly session to get support for Belgrade’s initiative, and that Serbia’s diplomatic efforts, with Russia’s strong support, will produce positive results.
The Minister expressed gratitude to Russia and Ambassador Konuzin for supporting Serbia’s efforts to safeguard its territorial integrity.
