During her visit to 20 best students who are working as interns in the company Vip Mobile, Matic expressed satisfaction that young people are being given an opportunity to gain practical experience and to advance their careers and that the company’s project is also contributing to producing telecommunications experts.
The project titled “Be a Vip Student”, which provides practical education to students and is preparing them to become tomorrow’s top experts, guarantees that we have a bright future in telecommunications ahead of us, said the Minister.
According to Matic, the Ministry will continue to support similar projects and make efforts to ensure that an even greater number of students are able to benefit from them.
She stressed that formal university education must be accompanied by practical training and called on companies which work in line with the highest standards to help good students gain expertise and employment thus encouraging them to stay in Serbia.
President of the Vip Mobile managing board Alexander Sperl said that 20 best students were selected from among 200 final year students at the faculties of economy, electro-technology, mechanical engineering, transport and organisational sciences from four of Serbia’s largest cities, and two students have already been offered permanent jobs at Vip Mobile.
Selected students were granted scholarships for continuing first year studies for a masters or doctoral degree at the university where they have been studying, with two-months paid summer training at Vip Mobile, and visits to the head office of mobilkom Austria group in Vienna and one of the technology faculties at the Vienna University.
