Cvetkovic said that nearly €2 billion is needed for completion of works on Corridor 10, which includes the Belgrade ring road.
According to Cvetkovic, the state can undertake obligations to finance the project from the budget or from international loans.
To complete Corridor 10 by 2011, it is necessary to allocate €1.3 billion for the sections to the Macedonian and Bulgarian borders, between €150 million and €200 million is necessary for the motorway from Subotica to Novi Sad, while the rest is to be used for the Belgrade ring road, he said.
Negotiations with consortium Alpina – PORR on the mutual termination of the Horgos-Pozega motorway contract are underway, the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister also said that the signing of the memorandum between UNMIK and EULEX is not what the Serbian government insisted on.
The Serbian government’s positions about EULEX are well known, Cvetkovic said adding that EULEX started operating without our participation and insist that we be a part of that project and that all solutions be approved by Serbian parliament.
Cvetkovic could not give more details on the negotiations and expressed expectation that the two sides will reach an agreement.
He noted that road infrastructure is what Serbia needs and is necessary for drawing more foreign investments and making the country more attractive.
Cvetkovic called on MP’s to stop obstructing parliament’s work and to ratify the agreements on the already approved loans for infrastructure projects.
Mrkonjic said that the works on the Belgrade ring road will be completed 15 days ahead of schedule as the constructors decided to work three shifts.
Mrkonjic said that once sector 4, which is 7.7 kilometres long, is completed, renovation of the Belgrade Gazela Bridge will begin.
Assistant General Manager of road company Putevi Srbije Slavoljub Tubic said that negotiations with the European Investment Bank on the €120 million loan for sectors 5 and 6 should be concluded by the end of the year.
Tubic added that agreement has been reached with Strabag to start works on the Avala road on September 1.
