Mrkonjic said that the 21.5 km section of the road also includes a third slow lane that is 5.3 km long.
The road does not pass through built-up areas, ensuring greater road safety, he said.
The Minister also highlighted that works on Corridor 10 will start on September 1 either in agreement with the concessionaire or the government will finance them.
The construction of Corridor 10 is one of the government’s priorities, and a special law on this project is being prepared as €1.7 billion is necessary to complete it, said Mrkonjic.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Aleksandar Cvetanovic said that €2 billion is planned for the construction of 300 km of motorway on Corridor 10.
He also announced reconstruction of railway lines for trains travelling at speeds of 160 km/h as well as the promotion of water traffic on the Danube.
According to him, through the promotion of infrastructure, the government wants to make Serbia an economic centre of south-eastern Europe.
