Serbian delegation presents its foreign policy priorities in Beijing

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic said today in Beijing that the 29th Olympic Games are not just an important sporting, but also a very important political and diplomatic event.
Jeremic told a press conference that the atmosphere in Beijing these days resembles that of the UN General Assembly as numerous high ranking members of the international community are present, which opens the way for talks on promotion of cooperation.
He said that the Serbian delegation led by President Boris Tadic had numerous meetings with many delegations over the past three days, including a meeting with Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini.
During those meetings, we lobbied for our initiative at the next UN General Assembly and explained the reasons why they should support Serbia's initiative, said Jeremic.
The Minister also announced visits to Malaysia and Singapore where he will discuss important issues for safeguarding Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity with top officials of these crucial Asian countries.
