Mrkonjic said that the Guca festival is a European festival and that only a nation which respects its tradition, where there is no room for bickering and arguments, will have a future.
The festival is held under the auspices of the Serbian government.
Apart from a number of cultural performances and folk dances, there will be exhibitions of hand-made articles, as well as performances by foreign and domestic ensembles and a concert by famous trumpeter Boban Markovic.
On Sunday at 11 am, there will be a parade of over 1,000 participants, of which only 16 best bands will take part in the final competition.
Radio Television Serbia will directly broadcast the most interesting events. It is expected that over 500 journalists from Serbia and abroad will report on the 48th brass band festival.
