Prime Minister condemns riots and violence on streets of Belgrade

Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic expressed regret over the incidents that took place at last night’s rally in Belgrade in which many citizens and policemen were injured and substantial material damage was caused.
In his written statement, Cvetkovic said that he condemns any form of violence and breach of public peace and order, and added that everyone starting riots has to answer for that.
He welcomed the arrest of persons that provoked the incidents and directly confronted the police and said that he believes that the police did their job professionally.
