Jeremic asks non-aligned countries not to recognise Kosovo’s independence

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic voiced hope today that conclusions of the ministerial conference of countries of the Non-Aligned Movement will include support for Serbia’s request at the UN General Assembly to seek the opinion of the International Court of Justice on all issues related to the defence of international law.

Jeremic announced at the conference, which is being held in Tehran, that during his two-day visit to Iran he will have separate meetings with foreign ministers of several states, whom he will inform about Serbia’s position on Kosovo’s independence.
Most of the countries that are members of the Non-Aligned Movement have not recognised the unilateral independence of Kosovo and I will request from my collocutors that non-recognition of this illegal secession remains their position, the Serbian foreign minister said.
