Tadic said that by constructing the corridor and new infrastructure, Serbia is creating conditions for new investments in the south of Serbia, and noted that infrastructure development will help improve the economy and stop the migration from these parts.
He also said that Serbia wants to improve the quality of work of its construction companies and that it is ready to cooperate with neighbouring countries in order to close construction deals abroad.
Minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic said that in the next two years Serbia must finish the construction of the motorway from Leskovac to the Macedonian border, from Dimitrovgrad to Nis and from Horgos to Novi Sad.
Tadic and Mrkonjic visited the section of motorway from the village Levosoje near Bujanovac to the border with Macedonia, which is around 22 kilometres long.
The construction of this section was agreed upon in 1999, and the value of works on Corridor 10 is estimated at over €1.7 billion.
