Return strategy for Serbs to Kosovo-Metohija to be adopted soon

Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic stated today that a sustainable return strategy for Serbs to the province based on economic strengthening of Serb communities will be adopted soon.

In an interview with the Beta news agency, Bogdanovic said that we have to do everything so that their return is sustainable and so that Serbs who have survived since 1999 can strengthen economically.
He pointed to the necessity of creating new jobs, activating small and medium-sized enterprises and stimulating Serbian companies wishing to invest in Kosovo-Metohija.
He said that only 7% to 8% of the funds in the province are provided by the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija, while the rest is provided by the ministries of health, education, culture and finance.
Kosovo cannot be used for everyday political purposes, it has to be a state issue. The Ministry will do everything to cooperate with all local administration representatives and organisations respecting Serbia as their own state, Bogdanovic stressed.
Speaking about reconstruction of demolished monasteries and churches, he said that the Ministry will support all projects relevant for the Serbian Orthodox Church and its believers.
