Under the government decision of July 24, 2008, the Minister was appointed president of the board for the construction of the Avala Tower.
Dulic recalled that this facility was built in 1965 and was damaged by NATO in the 1999 bombardment.
Director of RTS Aleksandar Tijanic said that the most important thing is that no generation of Belgraders will grow up without the Avala Tower.
So far, 59 metres of the tower have been constructed, and the tower is to be 203 metres high, which will make it the highest construction in the Balkans.
The contractor is the construction company Ratko Mitrovic-Dedinje. The works will be supervised by the CIP transportation institute.
The board for the construction of the Avala Tower was formed under the agreement between RTS, representatives of the Serbian Association of Journalists, the City of Belgrade and the Serbian government.
