Stevic, who is also the head of the Coordinating Centre, met with Serb representatives from the province and stressed that the basic aim of the strategy is the strengthening of Serbian institutions in Kosovo-Metohija.
According to him, another key priority is quality solutions to issues such as the construction of infrastructure facilities and the creation of conditions for the education and employment of the young.
In order to implement the strategy successfully, the headquarters of the Coordinating Centre will be in Gracanica, explained Stevic and added that thus, through concrete activities in the field and realisation of the development programme of the National Investment Plan and other programmes, the burning issue of unemployment will be solved.
Stevic stressed that this problem is particularly evident in central Kosovo-Metohija where around 6,000 young await jobs and specified that special attention will be paid to setting up small and medium-sized enterprises, which will undoubtedly motivate the young to remain in the province, and their displaced compatriots to return home.
Speaking about the newly-formed Community Assembly of Municipalities of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija, he said that this is a good response to the unilateral and illegal proclamation of independence by Kosovo-Metohija, but that the Serbian government must ensure the legal basis of the Community Assembly through provincial parliamentary elections.
