Mrkonjic said that the motorway from Nis to the Bulgarian border on Corridor 10 will be finished in two to two and a half years and highlighted the importance of this project for Serbia.
According to him, Corridor 4, which runs through Bulgaria and Romania, can take over international traffic, which is why the corridor through Serbia must be finished in two and a half years at the latest.
The value of the planned works on motorways through Serbia is €1.7 billion, Mrkonjic said and specified that these are the sections from Horgos to Novi Sad, from Leskovac to the Macedonian border and from Dimitrovgrad to Pirot.
Drobnjak said that preparation works began today on a 1,000 metre long tunnel, and there are 12 such tunnels from Prosek to the border with Bulgaria.
According to him, the works will be financed partly from the Serbian budget and for the most part through international loans.
